Resources for Toddlers & Preschoolers

Here’s a very quick, easy bubble-themed scavenger hunt that you can guide your child through. This can help promote combining words for early language learners as well as encouraging abstract concepts (ex: ‘something round that isn’t a bubble): Bubble Scavenger Hunt

Resources for K-2

Here’s a park-themed scavenger hunt that can be fun for early readers or (younger children with guidance!): Park-themed Scavenger Hunt

  • Work together with your child to come up with a scavenger hunt list for an area you plan to visit. Encourage them to think about things the might see there, which can help them predict and learn to create realistic expectations or even plan when they go and how long it might take (further developing those executive function skills!).
  • If you’re working on a particular speech sound, you can guide your child to convert/add to items on this list to include more of those sounds (ex: if they’re working on the ‘s’ sound, change “4 tall trees” to “6 small trees” to get a few extra practice sounds in there!)
